Texte biographique

Après des études de génie chimique à l'École nationale supérieure de Chimie de Marseille (diplôme d'ingénieur et D.E.S., 1966), Jean-Baptiste Sérodes a obtenu un Ph.D. en génie civil à l'Université Laval en 1974. Oeuvrant dans le domaine du génie de l'environnement, il s'intéresse tout particulièrement aux systèmes experts et aux outils d'aide à la décision appliqués à la gestion de l'eau. Ses intérêts de recherche actuels portent sur trois thèmes: les influences du traitement et de la qualité de l'eau à traiter sur la production de sous-produits de la désinfection; la modélisation et la prédiction des concentrations de sous-produits de la désinfection dans les réseaux de distribution municipaux; l'utilisation de marais épurateurs construits pour l'épuration de divers effluents industriels et urbains. Il a aussi participé au cours des dernières années aux travaux du Groupe de recherche interdisciplinaire mobilité, environnement, sécurité (GRIMES), et au projet OCTOPUS qui visait le développement d'un système intelligent distribué d'aide à la gestion des flottes de camion. Au CRAD, il fait équipe avec Manuel J. Rodriguez au sein de la Chaire de recherche en eau potable de l'Université Laval (CREPUL). Jean-Baptiste Sérodes est membre régulier du CRAD depuis 1996.
